The UNSW JD is the new law degree for graduates of disciplines other than law and leads to admission to legal practice.

A limited number of early offers to the UNSW JD will be made on 13 November 2009. Early offers must be accepted by 18 December 2009.

The main round of offers to the UNSW JD will be made on 8 January 2010 and must be accepted by 12 February 2010.

JD classes commence on Wednesday 24 February 2010.

UNSW Professional Development Program 2009

The UNSW Professional Development Program (International Students) is an initiative to assist UNSW international students with English as a second language to further develop their communication skills in a professional setting and gain practical workplace experience to enhance their career opportunities.

AGSM @ UNSW

The Australian Graduate School of Management’s Master of Business Administration (AGSM MBA) and AGSM Executive Programs have more than thirty years’ history of leadership in Australia. AGSM programs are recognised internationally for their rigour, relevance and the unique student experience provided for students and course participants.

The Australian School of Business, Australia’s leading business school and a centre of excellence for business education and research in the Asia Pacific region, delivers AGSM programs at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

How to apply

Applications to the full-time AGSM MBA Program for commencement in January 2010 are now open.

Before applying, interested candidates should satisfy the entry requirements, and note that meeting these requirements does not guarantee an offer. The AGSM MBA Program takes between 65 and 90 students, so competition is fierce. To be successful, candidates must demonstrate excellence across the entire application.

Application dates

Admission to the MBA Program will be determined over three rounds. The Selection Committee makes final decisions on complete applications within four weeks of submission.

·         Offers sent out 30 June 2009

·         Offers accepted 30 July 2009

Round 2

·         Completed Application due 1 August 2009

·         Offers sent out 30 August 2009

·         Offers accepted 30 September 2009

Round 3

·         Offers sent out 15 October 2009

·         Offers accepted 1 November 2009

Please be aware that a completed application includes the online application as well as all required documentation. Applications or documentation submitted after each specific round deadline will be rolled over for consideration in the following round.

Application process

The application process may differ slightly for each applicant, however, please follow the steps below:

1. Complete and submit the online application before the specific round deadline. Applications must be completed via the UNSW online application website.

For your reference: The program code for the MBA Program is 8350. The starting term for January 2010 intake is Semester 1, 2010.

2. Once the online application has been submitted, all required supporting documentation must be sent to the AGSM MBA Programs Admissions Office.

Postgraduate Research Program - PhD Single Course (Non-Award) Study It is possible to study each of the courses within Atax degree programs as separate, stand - alone courses. This type of enrolment is referred to as Single Course Study (Non-Award). Students often elect to study Single Courses to complement their existing skills to 'test the water' with tertiary studies before upgrading to a degree program. International Students

International Students studying in their country of residence can enrol to study in flexible distance mode. Visa requirements mean that International Students who wish to study in Australia must enrol in face to face classes or intensive classes in Sydney. Please visit the International Students website for additional information for future students who are not Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

Continuing Education

For those who wish to update their knowledge or skills in a particular are of taxation without having to complete assignments or exams, Atax offers enrolment on a Continuing Education basis.

UNSW Village

From January 2010, UNSW Village will provide students with a range of fully furnished, stylish and contemporary apartments, conveniently located on UNSW’s main Kensington campus. The Village is currently under construction on High Street, adjacent to the University’s residential halls and facing Randwick Racecourse. All parts of the Kensington campus are within easy walking distance.

Incorporating benchmark Environmentally Sustainable Design initiatives, UNSW Village will feature 1021 beds in a variety of one to eight bedroom configurations. All apartments will have well-equipped kitchens, lounges and dining areas, ample work space and high speed internet access in all rooms. An extensive Student Life Programme will focus on growth, development and support, as much as social, sporting and cultural interaction.

Current plans include renovation of the Fig Tree Theatre and building additional facilities such as a convenience store, e-library, café, laundry and a limited number of parking spaces.

UNSW Village is owned and operated by Campus Living Villages (CLV), Australia’s largest provider of student accommodation. As a company specialising solely in this area, CLV has set international standards in the industry with the aim to not only redefine student life, but also student lifestyle.
