AHEGS

UNSW and the Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS)



In September 2008 the Minister for Education the Hon Julia Gillard MP announced the introduction of the Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) for all higher education graduates in Australian Universities.

UNSW’s intention is to implement the AHEGS for students completing their program in Semester 1, 2010. The first AHEGS will be provided to students attending August/September 2010 graduation ceremonies.

The AHEGS will be issued to students in all Faculties and on all campuses. On graduation students will receive; a Testamur, an Academic Transcript and an AHEGS. From Semester 1, 2010 information currently contained in UNSW’s Supplementary Transcript will be incorporated in the AHEGS.

The PVC (Students) and Registrar has commenced work on the functional requirements and design of the new document. Further information on the AHEGS’s implementation will follow in early 2010.

A limited number of early offers to the UNSW JD will be made on 13 November 2009. Early offers must be accepted by 18 December 2009.
The main round of offers to the UNSW JD will be made on 8 January 2010 and must be accepted by 12 February 2010.
JD classes commence on Wednesday 24 February 2010.

AGSM @ UNSW

The Australian Graduate School of Management’s Master of Business Administration (AGSM MBA) and AGSM Executive Programs have more than thirty years’ history of leadership in Australia. AGSM programs are recognised internationally for their rigour, relevance and the unique student experience provided for students and course participants.
The Australian School of Business, Australia’s leading business school and a centre of excellence for business education and research in the Asia Pacific region, delivers AGSM programs at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
How to apply
Applications to the full-time AGSM MBA Program for commencement in January 2010 are now open.
Before applying, interested candidates should satisfy the entry requirements, and note that meeting these requirements does not guarantee an offer. The AGSM MBA Program takes between 65 and 90 students, so competition is fierce. To be successful, candidates must demonstrate excellence across the entire application.
Application dates
Admission to the MBA Program will be determined over three rounds. The Selection Committee makes final decisions on complete applications within four weeks of submission.

·         Offers sent out 30 June 2009
·         Offers accepted 30 July 2009
Round 2
·         Completed Application due 1 August 2009
·         Offers sent out 30 August 2009
·         Offers accepted 30 September 2009
Round 3
·         Completed Application due 1 October 2009
·         Offers sent out 15 October 2009
·         Offers accepted 1 November 2009
Please be aware that a completed application includes the online application as well as all required documentation. Applications or documentation submitted after each specific round deadline will be rolled over for consideration in the following round.
Application process
The application process may differ slightly for each applicant, however, please follow the steps below:
1. Complete and submit the online application before the specific round deadline. Applications must be completed via the UNSW online application website.
For your reference: The program code for the MBA Program is 8350. The starting term for January 2010 intake is Semester 1, 2010.
2. Once the online application has been submitted, all required supporting documentation must be sent to the AGSM MBA Programs Admissions Office.
